We enjoyed a magnifique, as the French would say, trip through Southwest France, starting in Biarritz near the Pyrenees and the Spanish Spain, through Bordeaux, Sarlat and ending in Toulouse. We walked through many lovely villages, unique in their own way.
This group photo shows our blended Probus group, including Credit River PROBUS, Mississauga South, Sheridan and a couple from an Oakville Club. We made many new friends and became closer friends with our fellow club members. We enjoyed so many laughs & shared experiences that we’ll be able to reminisce about for years.
We had visits to wineries and dinners in wine cellars. We climbed the highest sand dune in Europe, Dune du Pilat near Arcachon, explored the Lascaux cave( reproduction) and the Gouffre de Padirac cave system with a boat ride and lots of climbing to view stalactites & stalagmites. Awesome!
The last photos show Rocamadour, with the shrine we visited, and which is a stop on the pilgrimage path to Santiago de Compostela. Carcassonne Castle was spectacular and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
We returned home happy after seeing many interesting sights and sharing experiences with new and old friends. Just what we expect from a great Probus trip! Thanks to Rick and Deane, Jean and the team at Tour Design. Well done!
And who knew we had our own wine!
